Our Birmingham Office will be entering a team for this years Wolf Run in Warwickshire to help raise money in memory of a colleague, the pack will consist of nine engineers and a young pup, in the form of the office admin apprentice.
The autumn wolf run will take place on September 2nd at Welsh Farm Road, Warwickshire.
The assault course poses a series of mud infused challenges for the team, BSD Chafing the dream, as well as deep water crossings, climbing nets, log walls and its famous fast landslide all spread over 10k.
The squad are currently in training, which at the moment consists of walking laps of the roof at their Fort Dunlop offices in Birmingham, during their lunch break.
The team will donate all monies raised to BSD’s nominated charity, Bloodwise, in memory of their colleague who lost a hard fought battle with leukaemia in May of this year.
“Our number one reason for participating in the Wolf Run is to show our support for our colleague who passed away at such young age to such a dreadful disease. We have a great team ethic and the underlying cause is what will drive us through the mud and all the obstacles on the day” – Luke Pocklington BSD team captain
Bloodwise is BSD’s chosen charity for 2017 and is the blood cancer research charity. Birmingham is central to the life-saving work carried out by Bloodwise, with £20million invested by the charity in 32 different blood cancer research projects and clinical drugs trials in the city which help speed up access to new treatments for patients with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
“Blood cancer is the fifth most common cancer and the third biggest cancer killer, claiming more lives than breast or prostate cancer. Fundraising by BSD consulting will enable us to fund even more blood cancer research that will improve the lives of patients, through better treatments and cures. Thank you to all of the staff for their hard work and dedication, in memory of their colleague” Hannah Little Corporate Partnerships Coordinator for Bloodwise
