The Bicton Extra Care Scheme, near Shrewsbury, will be part of the “ShireLiving” brand, a partnership between The Wrekin Housing Trust and Choices Housing Association. The brand provides independent living for over 55’s with support and care on a 24/7 basis.

Challenge

BSD were appointed in a technical advisory role and asked to work alongside the development team to achieve planning.

In addition to the 85 apartments, the new building will provide facilities to encourage residents to interact, this will include a multi-purpose room, café, restaurant and resident’s lounge. There will also be a reception and lobby area, pamper and assisted bathrooms, disabled buggy store and charging area, guest sleepover rooms, laundry, staff offices and locker rooms.
