We’re delighted to welcome our newest recruit to Fort Dunlop – Nathan Johnstone – who joins us with 15 years’ experience in the industry.
With 12 of us in Birmingham, Nathan will be supporting the team on a variety of projects – from retail and residential to commercial and heritage schemes.
“I’m delighted to have joined BSD’s growing electrical engineering team.
“I have both practical and design experience, meaning that I know how to keep projects on time and within given cost parameters. I can creatively approach briefs to deliver buildings which are energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
“What attracted me to BSD was the culture – a close-knit, supportive team – and its strong reputation in the West Midlands. BSD has also been incredibly supportive of my studies as I’m currently completing a degree in engineering.
“I’m looking forward to progressing the BLOC Hotel scheme at Grand Central. We’re also working on a number of store redesigns for a large supermarket chain, which is really exciting.”
Joel Sawyer, director at our Birmingham office:
“Nathan’s appointment has come at a good time for us. We’re continuing to expand our offering and develop the team’s specialisms.
“As well as the BLOC Hotel scheme, the Birmingham office is also working on the multi-million-pound Freeman’s Common Student Village. Currently taking shape in the East Midlands, it will eventually house 1,200 students when complete.
“I’d like to wish Nathan the best of luck in his new role. I look forward to working closely with him on our varied portfolio of projects.”
When he’s not in the office Nathan plays rugby with Birmingham Exiles and his claim to fame is spending time with the one and only Pat Sharpe on the classic children’s TV show: Funhouse back in 1998.
