BREEAM (Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) measures the environmental sustainability of a construction project. It awards credits for meeting different environmental targets, with the outcome being a certified score that can be used to compare and benchmark sustainability across different projects. Year-on-year, we are seeing a trend towards improved BREEAM performance, with local planning authorities often now demanding an ‘Excellent’ rating.  Our role is to design-in the innovations that will help our clients achieve the best possible BREEAM rating.

By aiming to reduce environmental impacts throughout the construction and operation of a building, BREEAM focuses on all areas of sustainability, not just carbon emissions. The benefits to clients are clear and well-documented. They include:

Lower energy and running costs
Increased potential income from rent
Enhanced staff productivity, due to a more comfortable, productive working environment
Compliance with corporate social responsibility commitments
